Greetings

Welcome to my little corner of the inter-webs! I just wanted to take this space to warn you that my posts will rarely be up to date. Due to the spontaneity of natural disasters and the unpredictability of when AmeriCorps' services will be requested I will be digitizing my journal entries whenever we return to St. Louis. Oh, and most of the pictures you see here were taken by myself. If ever I do use someone else's material I make a point to give them due credit though! That said, come, leave comments and be merry! I hope you enjoy your stay!

Peck Ranch - 2/11

Taco Tuesday is a magical day.  We were out ridding Peck Ranch of that nasty barb wire again and the going was tough.  Messing with metal on a cold day isn’t any fun so imagine dealing with sharp metal on such a day!  Trees had fallen on the fence in some places and trees had completely engulfed it in others.  Lucky for us, we had a secret weapon: Charlie.  Charlie had a tractor that could push over trees and pluck the pesky poles from the frozen ground.  With his help we were able to remove a mile of fencing.

Wet, sore, and bruised (some of us more than others), we returned to the research facility and immediately began working on dinner.  Everyone took charge of an ingredient and our meal was ready in no time: tacos with chips and dip, guac, and cinnamon twists (thanks to Liana).  Taco Tuesday just makes all of the endured hardships disappear.

Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to climb to 40 degrees.  We’re all hoping that this is true as we really want to try our hands at something that won’t tear them to shreds!  Talk to you all later!
